Firstly, I am new to this forum so, thanks for having me!
I have been building/modifying cars and kits for the last 23 years and have done everything from scratch building my own mad max style v8 buggy thing in 1989 (god am I that old!) modified loads of Capri's/Cortina's/Escorts to V8 power mainly as track toys and just finished a 7ltr V12 Jaguar/Lister historic racer pushing well over 550 horses, so I kind of know what I am doing if you get me drift!
Anyway, I have a plan.....
Looking to build my ultimate toy! always had the idea at the back of my mind for a very long time and finally have the time/space/resources and funds to do it properly!!!! :-)
I wont say what it is as it will be the only one in the world as no one else would ever be stupid enough to do it, but lets just say that it will be a V8 mid engined mated to renault/porsche box and kind of a very different GT40!
I am more than capable of fabricating a rear chassis to do this (done several rear engined grasstrack cars) but looking for an easier solution, that I can buy off the shelf wishbones, drive shafts, hubs etc.
Looking to use the back half of an existing chassis from an Ultima/Countach/GT40 type kit, maybe even something like and Edge Devil or Aero GT3.
SO.... any thoughts or suggestions and does anybody know of a part built or damaged chassis that would suit or know if someone like ultima will build a part chassis or have an old test or damaged chassis they might sell??
