It's a funny old world.....

I bought an M20 325i engine off eBay from a car that had been scrapped. As most will know, I have rebuilt the said engine into a 2.8 litre 'stroker' engine and installed it in my Sportster.
Whilst rebuilding the engine, I took a couple of vists to my local BMW dealer to buy some gaskets and small parts. To get the right parts I qouted the engine number and VIN number on the side of the ECU to the spares man .
With typical BMW efficiency he was able to quickly trace the registstration of the original car and a data sheet showing the original cars specification, colour and options, etc. from 25 years ago.
I thought this was wonderful and then forgot all about it until this week I get a nice letter in the post from the service manager suggesting that my car (the scrapped donor car) is due a service and MOT... :lol:
Not only that but they offer a free collection and delivery service!! I'd like to see them try!

But you can't knock them for trying to deliver a premium service.

you have to admire their marketing and their systems, annoying though they can be at times!

Yes, it made me chuckle as it floated into the waste bin.....
