Dash wire colours.

Hi everyone.

Can anybody tell me what these wires do on the dash panel and what they connect to on the Marlin loom.

Red/Black. I think this is illumination.
Red/White.

Hi John,

Need to be a bit careful here matey...as an example, the wire colours vary from year to year within the same model car...

I'm just about to pick up my instrument cluster to work out the wires as well...so perhaps I should put up on my site a "connection" diagram with wire colours for us to compare?

What model was your donor for the instrument cluster?

Hi John.

Yes I've notice Rover keep changing the colours. I've sussed all the other wires but just have these two left for the instruments.

My donor was a 220 Turbo Coupe 1993. Had a look at the MGF in Rave. This seems to have these wire colours for a dimmer switch. But I can't remember if the donor had this!! I'll hook the battery up and see which wire lights the display up.

Trouble is Red/White Red/Black under different models is used for illumination.

There was a few wire changes that differed from the Marlin colours. I've list them on my web site as a Word doc.

Cheers
