My cheapo washer tank has failed - It kept leaking around the bottle top and through the barb that was glued into the lid. I don't know if it's just dodgy seals, or if the fluid is slightly corrosive to the rubber and the glues I've used... But it's been leaking out and collecting on top of the scuttle, and with the heat it's congealed into a orange paste in places. Yuck.
Anyway, I found a local place that can do bespoke tanks. It's more expensive than a plastic tank, but none of those would fit where I wanted it. And you can't polish plastic...
Anyway - I think this is going to look cool next to the chrome brake servo that's going in.
It's 3mm Alu, sized to fit in the space that was there. It works out to hold about 2 litres.

No laquer - I've only just picked it up from the fabricator. He polished it up while I waited on his big polishing wheels.
I don't think I will laquer it. The other raw alu that I've polished seems to be holding up pretty well, and a quick buff with some autosol very now and then should keep it pretty.
