Has anyone any knowledge or experience of using a Residual Pressure valve?

I have drums at the back of my Sportster (yes, I know I should fit discs!) and I'm wondering if this would improve my brake pedal feel.

What aspect of your brake pedal feel are you looking to improve?

I have about 1" of pedal travel before any braking effect starts.
I only became aware of these valves this week having not heard of them before.
I'm wondering if my pedal travel is the rear shoes expanding first. Seems to line up with the description of the purpose of these valves.

Wilwood say...
"Wilwood ten pound residual pressure valves retain a minimum brake line pressure to help eliminate excessive pedal travel in drum brake systems. With drum brakes, a ten pound valve is used to compensate for return spring tension and maintain wheel cylinder sealing in the drums."

Anyone heard of them being used? Probably not much interest in drum brakes recently

This valve is used in brake systems when master cylinder is lower than the wheel cylinders.

10lb....to be used with drum brakes FRONT or REAR.
