Ignore all the crap stickers and rubbish including the aerial as the car is down to its bare colour as was originally intended, but you can see the carbon fibre spats
From my experience something is needed - and better to drill all those holes before you paint it!
I have seen various options. If you are going for the old school look you can even use leathercloth - I have seen this on a few "vintage" machines. A bit like a vinyl roof - but not of the roof lol. It has the advantage that it will stretch around corners but you better be confident before applying that glue!
I reckon you could probably make yer own from some thin stainess sheet. I have seen some with the edges finished with some piping of some sort - looks good if done properly.
It won't wrap round the corners, but it'll protect the flat face of the wings...
Yes, they do like nice. Maybe something to fit after the wings are too damaged to repair?
I'm trialling that stick on plastic protector and so far it seems to work OK so far. There are various types around and I picked these guys http://www.venture-shield.co.uk/ Good stuff and good instructions made it not to difficult to fit.
Most people don't notice it until you show them.
I guess it depends what effect you are trying to achieve?
