hi guys , flicking threw a sva artical the other day i came across a piece on steering columns saying they require 2 universal joints on the column to deflect the column in case of an accident ,is the iva test going to be the same as ive never heard of this before , i have one universal joint on my speedster, any idea,s on this ,cheers

It depends on the type of steering column, but that's the easiest way to achieve the requirements unless you have a colapsable column.
i believe some OE steering wheels have collapsible components within them. I ordered a beetle wheel from ebay. It was a 2nd hand one from a slightly newer model than my 1970.
How are you getting on with you build now? Mines still being painted but hope to have it back in the next month.

hi ,build coming on slow,too cold out there so choosing my jobs, no garage so car covered up on drive way,not painting mine till passed the iva test, good luck with repaint
