hi guys, just brought some cool looking mirrors for my speedster kit, dont want to take a chance on using them for my iva test , so am going to fit a set of cheap and cheerful that will definetly pass, any advice on a supplyer , or have any of you got an old set that have already passed you dont require, looks dont matter, also anti theft /immobiliser,what are you using,i was thinking of a electronic immobiliser, but you require documentary evidence?is this right, any advice always helpful, cheers guys
I used the BMW immobiliser EWS 3.3, which passed IVA OK as the requirement for documentation had been suspended at the time (last Dec). I believe that it has now come back into force though. I did have a letter from an auto electrician just in case, but this wouldn't have been enough as it has to be from an approved installer.
The mirrors is mainly about being able to fold back under pressure, no sharp edges and of course the visibility tests.

hi,going to go with the same exterior mirrors as you have ,rang the company you recommended, they have the same style mirror but only with a convex glass,is this still passable for the iva, cheers
Don't forget that you will need to add some rubber around the edge of the mirror to ensure it complies with radius checks, and cover the nut on the front of the mirror with a plastic nut cap (you'll have to use some hot glue to keep it on - as the standard cover sizes are either slightly too big, or way to small)
