I have had my MK8 for a 4 years now. I bought it from the original owner/builder who used it for a number of years and then stored it.
It was in reasonable condition but it really needed total restoration.
Nearly everything was replaced/rebuilt with a few mods to the interior, brakes and engine.
The drivetrain (1293cc Mini engine) was basically the same but with an added turbo and custom intake and fuel injection/ignition system
The engine puts out around 165hp and gives a decent power/weight.
Handling is very good especially the grip on dry roads with A0048 tyres.
