Spent most of Sunday fitting carpet prior to the return of the body from the paint shop. I ran out. No problem I thought. Went to order some more this morning and Woolies no longer stock it!
Oh b*gger, b*gger, b*gger. It looks like I will have to use something else which means.
A. I have to start (the carpet) again
B. The (expensive) carpet I have is now scrap (although it'll make good templates)
C. I chose the paint colour to match the carpet that I now won't have. I Just hope I can find something else that will match or it'll be back to black...
The moral is - always make sure that you have too much rather than too little.
Martin - a sugestion so you can use your nice carpet for something othet that templates:
Just get some rot proof carpet from woolies (Black, as it goes with everything). Do the main areas in it (tunnel etc) and then use your nice expensive stuff as car mats - you can cut them to the shape of your foot wells etc, and then get the edges 'whipped' so they don't fray.
Have you 'phoned Woolies? They might be able to get you some on special order or maybe tell you where they got it.
Might be worth a try before starting again?
Well - I phoned Woolies and they confirmed they were unable to supply that type of carpet at the moment. Apparently it is their most popular but they just can't obtain it.
Then the person I spoke to said "hold on a minute" and dissapeared into the stock room. It seems it was my lucky day - they had one offcut left 1.3M long in the colour I am using (Mulberry). I really needed a bit more than that but it'll have to do (no room for error).
So - another task on it's way to being completed. Just a few other "odds and ends" to do now before the body comes back (The main one being to try and get a bit more ground clearance under the exhaust). Don't think I will be ready for Stoneleigh though....

Mine is taking a lot longer to put back together than I thought! I spent all Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and most of last Sunday and I still have a long list of tasks to do. It actually took me 2 hours to bolt on one top bonnet and four bonnet catches.....geeez...

Funny that it takes so long to re-assemble!
It took me a day to take mine apart for painting a nearly a month to put it back together. And I did regret having 23 bolts holding each bonnet side onto the hinge.....
Flippin 'eck - a month. It took me two weekends (4 days) to take mine apart. If I take your month pro-rata that will be four months to re-assemble. Just in time for the winter - gulp....
Well its not as bad as it seems... It was in January and I've got a single garage. There isn't enough room to do much with the car inside, so I had to do the work in the drive. So I was restricted to weekends, and for a couple the weather was bad.
