What is the consensus on carpet pattern-have buiders used a one piece approach, or separate sections for trans tunnel, and right/left seat areas?

Best to use rubber mat for the floor area's. It's bound to get a soaking sooner or later.

Trans tunnel tricky to do in one piece because of its shape and length. I did mine it two initially (front and back joining where the gearbox bit meets the prop shaft bit) but now I am addding a centre consol (which covers most of the top) I will change to 1 piece for each of the 2 sides. Its best to make a brown paper template first - even then I found it quite difficult.

I fixed my carpet with proper carpet studs from Woolies but I think most people just glued theirs.

This is the approach I'm planning on - rubber matting for the seat pans, and carpet every where else. Have to say, not looking forward to it!

I did my tunnel as a one piece but you have to slit it and insert some traingular pieces. The joins are invisible with the Marlin supplied carpet. I used 6mm closed cell sponge rubber as an 'underfelt' and glued both this and the carpet.
All carpet and underfelt are synthetic so rot proof. The sponge rubber is highly recommended as it sound deadens and makes the car soft to touch when you get in and out.

It was daunting to start with, bit a very satisfying part of the build as the car is transformed from a metal box to a nice snug cockpit.
