What has everyone used to fix the rear trim panels to the tub? I used rivnuts when I fitted the rear wings but they don't work well in fibreglass. I guess you could just use self tappers on the smaller side panels but I would have thought that the rear panel (with the hatch to access the "boot") needs something a bit more substantial.

I used these small push in clips which take a #8 ss self tapping screws
I then used Stainlees steel screws and cup washers.
The SS screws and cup washers came from Woolies but can't remember where I got the plugs (probably eBay?). I'll have a search through my emails and see if I can find anything.
I just used rivnuts, set with a hand tool. I haven't had any problems so far.
My thinking was that as it wasn't taking a great deal of load, and they'd only be hand tight, there wouldn't be much of a chance of the rivnuts spinning.

I found some fixings specially designed for hollow panels including fibreglass. From MemFast. They are similar to rivnuts but with a bigger head and perforated body which means they squash up more easily. They call them Jack Nuts.
Jason - Can you tell me what screws you used? Did you find some that you can use with cup-washers. I have beem unable to locate countersunk domed head threaded screws (as opposed to self tappers)
They're just normal, M5 stainless capheads with a dome top - they're not contersunk at all.
I was going to put a stainless washer under them, but I might not now. With the foam padding on the panels, the screw sinks into it nicely giveing a counter sunk effect.
I was worried that the leather cloth might wrinkle / ruck up as the screw was tightened, but it hasn't.
No - not yet. Still havent sorted out my rear belt fixings, as I have to take the whole rear end off, and haven't had time to do it yet.
Plus I still haven't got my bumpers yet. I did get an email from Terry about them though - apparently Mark has redesigned them to be IVA ok, and took them to the local IVA test centre last week to ensure that they'll meet the requirements.
Once he's got the nod from the inspector, he'll make me a set and send them up.
At the moment, I'm thinking about postponing the IVA until spring. I think it might be a bit of a handful with ice on the roads.

To say nothing of the icy blast in your face. My test was at the end of April. It was very cold at 07:30 and I had to drive 20 miles. It didn't rain though....
It will be interesting to see the revised bumpers. I don't suppose Marlin have had anything to say about the rear wings?
