wiring
Mike just to help a little, all black cables are grounds and brown battery positive. If things don't work make sure black cables are all screwed to good metal. If you need any help just pm me.
Good luck
Brian
Anyone know the colours?
What is 'UG' or 'UW'?
Is 'GR' grey, green or green & red?
I full colour code would be nice. I suppose you can find this in any Haynes manual?
wiring colours
They aren't standard iso colour codes ? so you need the key.
I have the colour codes somewhere here, ( old college books)
U=Blue, R=Red, W=White, G=Green, N= Brown, B=Black, P=Purple
Therefore UR = Blue with red tracer etc.
Check how this suits the loom, and let me know

have searched the internet and found this link for the wiring colour code off a Range Rover:
http://www.dakar4x4.co.uk/build/wiring/wiring.htm
Is this the same code? looks to me like it well could be.

Something to add to the diagram.
The wiper and lights switch show the same colours.
I believe the lights should be:
P,R,R,UW,UR
