It's the IVA test now - not the SVA!

I thought about using bonnet straps on my Sportster but after looking into it I decided that the buckles would almost certaily fail the radius test. IMHO it would be better to wait until post IVA to fit them.

hi robin, just trying to get this car sorted out,as you.ve built a sportster would you mind answering a few queries for me,ive put tradititional smiths clocks in the dash,is it right ive got 127mm around the steering wheel ,so all that area as well as inside the steering wheel i can put my switches and clocks without failing ,also what exterior door handles did you use, thanks for youre help, mark

Hi Mark

I can't remember the exact dimensions but there is an area around the steering wheel that is exempt from the dreaded radius rules. I didn't have a problem 'cause I used instruments with an SVA compliant bezel (half round) so it didn't matter where they were located.

As for exterior door handles - the Sportster doesn't have any so I can't be any help there - sorry.

Yes, it's 127mm around the steering wheel, plus a bit more.
