Rear Suspension Links

18 Feb 2005, 1:37pm
Hi,

I've just started trying to set some base camber and toe settings on the suspension.

The rear toe links appear to be too long...has anyone else found this?
I.e. there is not enough thread to adjust the rear toe...

I have been advised by Mark at Marlin to cut 10mm off the ball joint spigot, apparently there is plenty of thread to allow this.Hope this helps

Hi Barry,

Yes you are referring to the ball joints that set the camber, and yes I have cut them down approx 10mm. This is essential else they contact the driveshafts...

However, I am referring to the linkages that are connected from the upper triangular tube section to a ball joint at the rear of the hub...I really do need to get my web site finished...

The linkage is constructed of a tube with a threaded bar at one end and a flat plate with hole on the other end. Does that make sense?

Hi John
Yes the internal thread in the ball joint that connects to the threaded bar is the one I was refurring to ,if 10mm is cut off this, it allows the threaded bar is be inserted enough to allow adjustment .Hope this helps
