Seven style kit cars (Cater/Tiger/MK) - A few Q's.

Hi all,

I am looking into the sanity of purchasing a seven style kit car and am considering ether a caterham, tiger or MK style. I have visited the Caterham showroom a few times and although the models are pretty smart I am drawn to the older superlight (small style) design.

The kit car will be a toy and more biased for the track (although I'll have to drive it there and back), not worried about weather protection or windscreen either (have lid and wet weather gear).

Tigers and MK look good value on pistonheads, but due to the various configs I'm unsure what to discount and what to short list. What will I be looking for bhp wise for a sub 5s 0-60? (don't want anything too silly first time out).

Of the three I do prefer the basic, racing look of the tiger models.

Budget is under 10k but lower the better and I'm not discounting any BEC variant (used to have an S2000, which I have read is what to expect).

Is the market better in the winter for buyers with regards choice and price or do people keep them off the classifieds until the spring/summer months?

Thank you for reading, hoping you guys and gals can answer some of these newbie questions.

Hi A.

Welcome aboard.

I would suggest you go to Donnington this year and have some passenger rides on the track. Might help a you choose.
