This is a read-only archive of the old Madabout Kitcars forum. New posts and replies are no longer possible, but every thread is still here to browse and read.
At Derby SVA test centre we are currently researching the possibilities of presenting a seminar on the preparation and presentation of kitcars for the SVA test.
To enable us to progress we are trying to establish the amount of interest there may be in such a project, so we are looking to builders, clubs and groups of enthusiasts to register their interest at the e.mail address below. There would be a fee of £15.00 pp, and we would have groups of 10 per daily session.
We would also welcome any input with regards to the content of the seminars.(grey areas etc)
Madabout fully support this initiative so please get behind Mark and the team at Derby and provide your thoughts and questions about SVA (especially those builders that are nearing that stage)
Obviously interest will be fairly localised to Derby and surrounding areas but you never know if it proves successful it may be reason enough for other SVA testing stations to have similar days.
With enough input from people to make it a success then Madabout should be able to provide a reference point for all your SVA worries and concerns.
Please post here with you support and topics you would like raised and also e-mail Mark at the address supplied in his post to express an interest in attendance.
This is a bloody good idea, but I'm in Taunton...could you talk to the local SVA guys here about hosting the same thing here? I would attend without question...very good idea!

Hi Mark, Big Cheese and All,
I decided to keep out of public forums a while ago. However, with news as encouraging as this I couldn’t resist sticking my head above the parapet to say “Jolly Good Show” or something similar.
In fact the idea’s so good: I reckon it would be worth a mention in Kit Car’s news pages .
Has Big Cheese got any problem with my referring Kit Car’s readers to MadAbout for interactive SVA chat ?
Let me get this straight. For £15 you get to spend a day with an SVA tester or two and ask questions about your concerns, along with 9 other guys who'll ask the questions you were afraid to ask .
Hi Andy. I live in Ibstock North West Leicestershire which is about 45 mins from Junction 15 M1. I might be coming down to see you and Dan in a couple of months armed with a camera and a thousand questions.
We are looking at the 06/04/05 for the first seminar, and are finalising the details at the moment, press ad,s etc.
I will confirm within the next few days, but don,t forget to register at the e.mail address on our original posting. Thats where the invites will come from.
Mapper, do you have any SVA literature that could be put up on Madabout that you think might benefit builders, often asked questions, failure points, that sort of thing.
It went very well thanks, everyone who attended agreed it had been worthwhile and suggested it would be a good idea to do others. Thanks for the use of the site for advertising it. I will be in touch soon.
