Engine Options (2.9 Cologne V6)

Does anyone have any experience fitting the above engine into a sevenesque kit? My thoughts were that since many kits are sierra based, using a sierra with that engine would be simpler than using a completely different vehicle (eg E36), since most of the suspension/brakes would be the same as the 2litre that most kits are based on.
Most of the sierra's i've found are XR4x4, but i would rather use the 2wd type 9 gearbox and conventional 2wd.

You could always change the 4x4 MT75 gearbox for a 2wd version. I think you cna get them from transit vans, scorpio and some xr4s amongst others. Laways one or two on fleabay. Might be a Quick fix.

I think the weight of the thing and getting all the gubbins to fit under the bonnet would be the main obstacles. I had a 2.3 V6 cologne in my Cobra and decided one day to try out a 2.9, the engine fitted fine as you would expect as it's the same block but it's all the other gear that gets in the way. BTW I'm a cheap git so only wanted to go with stock items and wasn't willing to hack the chassis about to get it to fit. Anyone determined enough to get it to fit probably could but I think there is still a weight issue in a car like a seven.
