I was in the garage yesterday (unfortunatly not doing any work to the car - I really must get started again), and noticed in passing that the feed lines from the resevoir to the master cylinder where 'weeping' - It looks as if brake fluid is seeping through the pipes!
I must assume that I've got the wrong stuff for the job, but the pipe I was told by the guy at the motor factors I bought it from that it was fine for brake fluid... Obviously not.
I believe the pipe is actually flexible fuel hose. I guess I should be using specific brake hose if exists - what / where did you get yours?

You need stuff specifically for brake fluid 'cause
A - It attacks anything else
B - It will fail the SVA!
Can't remember where I got mine from - I will try to find the receipt tonight. I think Patrick and Peter used the same stuff.

Picking up on your brake hoses weeping, it has always un-nerved me that you used flexible hoses throughout. These, by the nature of what they are made from, will expand marginally under pressure. Thus if you fit the entire brake circuit in flexible hose, you may have a spongy brake pedal with quite a lot of travel under hard braking.
Why do all manufacturers fit stiff brake pipes for the long runs, and only use flexible pipe where there is movement between the two ends?
Its worth thunking about if you are having to changeyour pipes..............

I thought you had hibernated or emmigrated?
Yes, you do need hose that is suitable for brake fluid and it must be suitably marked for the SVA.
I used Sytec FH013B and I got it from Burton Power. (Just put 'FH013B' in their search box.)
I took a printed copy of this to the SVA, just in case, but the inspector was satisfied that mine was marked correctly. I had heard that unmarked hose is a common failure point.
