TRAX 08 - Silverstone - Sunday 7th Sept

28 Aug 2008, 6:18pm
Myself, Limpabit, Merlinman & SDMC001 are considering a get together at this event......it'd be great to get some exi's together!!

I've managed to get mine into the display area....so all of the hot hatch boys can see what an exi is!!

Weather forecast.......depends on which one you believe.....but start praying now for dry weather and we'll be there!

Any takers?

Would be good to get on the track at some point this year. Here's hoping for a good day.

I'm game for this, unless the weather is dire.

I'm up for some straight line (cos everyone can drive fast in a straight line, right?) competition! I've just been out, the car hasn't broken, and it launches brilliantly now the engine isn't swaying.

My ARBs will hopefully be with me this weekend, so finally the car will handle properly. That said, even as it is, it grips massively better than it did before, is exceptionally docile (so far as it seems), and DOES NOT wave its backside viciously even if I snap the throttle shut! The FIRST time I've actually enjoyed driving the car!

Hi Rich.

What stand are you going to be on?

Iam already doing a sun dance.

John,

No stand as such...its the 'invitational display area' (wherever that is)...still waiting for the ticket.

...must go...more sun dancing to do!

Can you take your car on track??

I am available that day but unsure as car would not have done any miles really so untested! (apart from handling)

Plus if it rains I don't have a roof ha

Hi Craig.

Lots going on there.

0-60 timing. Take your car on the track.

Lotus passenger rides etc.

Weather is a biggy for all of us.

Here's doing another sun dance naked if that helps. Opps the clouds are coming. Better get dressed!!

Have you got breakdown cover? If so, just dig in and go for it! Think back to Ric H and his baptism by fire!

I've done about 50 miles in my car since it was rebuilt, so mine's pretty untested too!

Got mine included with insurance (footmanJames).

Weather forecast is not looking good so far.:(
4 Sep 2008, 11:48am
I'm going to decide based upon what I'm greeted with on Sunday morning. The weather is too fickle for words.

OK...who stopped doing the daily sundance??

Forecast looks dodgy...but then the forecast always is.!!

Get up and see what colour the sky is on Sunday.

Is it worth sharing phone numbers, a) so we can collectively make a decision on the weather, and b) find one another at the show? I know what bigrich looks like (he's short :) ), but nobody else.

Well chaps, sadly to say I feel the climatic conditions have got the better of me yet again, so in the words of dragons den.

"Im out"

I suspect it'll write it off for all of us.... :rain: frustrating.

Not out yet.....checked the forecast again this morning (bbc, accuview, met office......wife says I am obsessed by the weather?? (she doesn't have a car with no roof!!)

.....definately not going to be suncream time...but the rains are easing, Noah has landed his ark and I reckon maybe, just maybe, it could be dry enough for me with the odd shower.

I shall continue to check the forecast (is every 15 minutes too much?)....and will probably make my decision Sun am.

Not looking good:(

For those that went, how was it?
8 Sep 2008, 11:51am
...only me there.

Weather not too bad driving down....damp and a couple of showers...not enough to get me wet.

Took a gazebo to put the car under and this worked well during the HEAVY rain for a couple of hours midday - 2pm.

Track dried out nicely then and saw some good track action with the Silverstone cars...

Didn't track mine, some interest in it but no one with cash to buy.

Dry coming home.

All in all fun day out and a good dose of 'petrol injection' to finish off the summer.

It looks like you got your timing spot on weather wise.

To have the two hours of heavy rain between 12-2, is great. If there was a a good time to have heavey rain, that would be it during standdstill/lunch.:)
