Yep, and I've bonded 1" x 0.25" rubber foam to the underside of the clam. The other issue, in my case at least, is at the rear most part of the exposed dash, where I've put stainless scuff plates on to stop the paint being worn away every time I open and close the front clam.
Mine does as well. So much so, that in the accident, my outside edge got damaged near where the side panel points the front clam. Another project for another time!
Also, on the doored version, Steve also had it, the top joint on the door, is very weak, and split open.
