Been in touch with Marlin asking for PCD / offset etc for wheels.

They said the standard R200/25 sizes.

I know there has been some issue with fit under wheel arches, so can anyone confirm the correct size I need to order.

I am thinking either 15 or 16" wheels.

I need:
PCD
Offset
width
tyre size
& any other info I might need to give a wheel supplier

Damn if you was closer, you could have borrowed my turbo alloy wheels I used for the SVA.

If I was you, just for the SVA, borrow or buy, even steelies, from the knackers yard.

If you don't, your at risk of them not passing at the SVA.

My wheels I would have though would have passed the SVA just. But not sure. There are League wheels. 6.5"X15 with 195 50 rubber. ETA I think are et45

I have checked mine, and they are 15 x 7" and ET35, fitted with 195 / 50 - straight through the SVA.

Amazing the manafacrurer does not know the off set of the wheels for its car.

I was provided this by Dylon some years ago.

6*15 4*100mm off set ET45.

He got wheels that size which were fine.

When which kit tested the car they felt 15 inch were a better match, obvioysly only their opinion.

When looking for wheels with Dylan's figures, I could only find Rover wheels with this.

So I need:
15" x 6.5 or 7 ??????

Tyre size 195/50/15 and not what Marlin told me (195/55/15)

Size wise I have heard from many that 17" is probably too big.
I was at one point considering 16" at the rear and 15" at the front, but an keeping to one size due to the price advantage & 15" is obviously cheaper.

Personally I'd go the 15 / 16 route, and take the cost on the chin. It's the way I'm expecting to go, once I've changed the suspension and double checked clearances.

Mine new wheels are 15X6.5, PCD 4x100, 195/50/15. Will check the ET today. But going by the Rover wheels, would guess at ET42 to bring the wheel in a bit. Will check though. And look like there would have passed the SVA

For the SVA I used the Rover turbo wheels. Rover seem to be the only ones to that do this size with this ET. 6X15, PCD 4X100 with 195/55/15 with ET45.

Having 195/50/15 will make the speedo under read a bit. So at 70, it will read 68. So this should be ok for SVA.

So et45 will bring the wheels in under the arches more than et35???

And there are no issues with wheels rubbing inner wings etc????

No it's the opposite. For example. I'm pretty sure my new wheels are offset ET38 ie 38mm offset. The rover had an offset of ET45. But the rover wheels were 6" and my new wheels are 6.5". If they had the same offset et45, then my wheels, because there .5" wider, would stick out. So I played with the offset to bring the wheel in.

Has not caused any scrubbing.

To my mind, the bigger the offset, the nearer the hub face is to the OUTER face of the wheel. Thus a 6" rim with a ET35 offset will be 10mm further out, than a 6" rim with an ET45.

I'm presently looking to go for an ET45 16" x 7" rim with a 215 /40 on the rear, but need to be a little more certain than I currently am, that this will fit without rubbing any components on the inboard side.

I'm experiencing no issues with a 15 x 7 with et35, fitted with a 195 / 50.

It makes sense.

You have a slightly wider wheel than me. But have a offset of 35 rather than mine (at a guess 38). Which means yours 3mm more offset than mine. But your's is 0.5" wider. So would mean yours are slightly more towards the hub than mine.

There seems to be a few posts contradicting each other here but as a guide mine are 16x7 et43 and stick out past the arch slightly

Nope, my wheel is offset less, thus the 3mm is ADDED to the 0.25" extra width either side of the centreline.

7" / 2 = 3.5"

3.5" = 88.9 mm

88.9 mm - 35 mm = 53.9 mm (distance of outer edge of wheel from hub face)

6.5" / 2 = 3.25

3.25" = 82.55 mm

82.55 mm - 38 mm = 44.55 mm (distance of outer edge of wheel from hub face).

Therefore my 7" rims, if I've been correctly informed and they are ET35, protrude from the hub face 9.35mm more than the 6.5" wheel with ET38.

Who would think there was so much maths in a wheel!

6.5"X15 et 38, 195/50x15 will work (mine)
7"X15 et35, 195/50/15 work (John's)

6"X15 et 45, 195/55/15 or 195/50/15
(Rover turbo wheels, you will be lucky to get any other wheels in this fitment). Work

The rule of thumb is that a tyre should be no more than 1.3 times as wide as the rim, so with a 6.5" rim you'll be okay up to a 215 section tyre. Plenty enough scope I'd have thought.
