After some time trying to resolve my numberplate issues with the DVLA (all to with the donor), and waiting for an inspection, my car finally hit the roads tonight!

Got back from Brum, wacked the plates on, and then racked up 75 miles taking people out for a ride.

Car seems okay, though it deffo needs stiffer springs, and the sooner the stiffer rear suspension components are fitted, the better.

Glad to hear you're on the road. Good forecast for this weekend I think so start getting those miles used up!

I got my hood a few days ago so want to get that fitted. Was it fiddly - did it take long?

It is a nice feeling when you hit the road with plates for the first time.

Marlin are looking at my problem at the moment with the new rear suspension and the standard Rover calipers. Not sure if you were looking at using the same calipers.

The springs at the front was weak for me as well. Changed them for 225 weight. Done the trick.

Excellent news John, very pleased for you! Not sure what the weather has been like down there but up here we have had 7 days of 16-17c and clear blue skies! I shit you not!

I'm not sure wether mine are differant to others but I know that my rears are worse than the fronts (springs that is) rear is very bouncy and thats just in the street

I have only fitted the durable dots to the windscreen capping so far, and it didn't take long. I can't see it taking long to fit the remaining clips either.


There are loads of people running this setup, so it's curious you're having bother. I wonder if the other people are using the later lower arms - from what I recall the tubular sections go all the way to the hub the later design, unlike the early items.


Mine are stodgy front and rear - my daily driver is firmer!



The weather here has been fantastic all week. Saturday was exceptional (see pic below).



My rears are seriously wound down to get decent ride height (read clear speed bumps / ramps). I need stiffer spring from and rear, by about 30 - 40 I reckon.

Does anyone know what the standard springs are?

What is the problem? as I suspect that will be my config.

It's not what you'd ever call quiet...........

On a side note, it's pretty apparent the back end is flexing a great deal, cos the tyres were barely marked going to and from the SVA (racked up 280 miles)..... but after some time being thrashed (135 miles), the tyres are looking rather worse for wear, and I'd reason it's not helped by the toe-in increasing significantly under load.

I'm using the complete new rear end. Lower wishbones as well. But the caliper hits the lower wishbone.

Ah thanks, does sound like it will effect me, must ask Mark about it when I collect, although I am having bespoke wishbones (nothing fancy just that they couldnt get to the jigs so have had to do them manually without to meet my deadline)
