This is a read-only archive of the old Madabout Kitcars forum. New posts and replies are no longer possible, but every thread is still here to browse and read.

Can someone else ask MikeR about his cats love of his 5exi !!
The bond between cat and car is worth repeating Mike, go on tell the forum the story, it amused me..
Congratulations hadnt realised mine had changed too.. mind I seem to have Kit Car Dreamer tagged to mine still not sure when that changes. or why somepeople have them and others dont.
I was a kit car dreamer until I hit 100 I think! By which time my car was on the road...
On the subject of cats, I myself am not a cat lover (this is something of an understatement), so you can imagine my outrage at finding cat hairs on my beautifully flocked dashboard. I mean right now it's hair, next it might be wet patches or dead birds. My car lives in a carport under a cover, and no doubt the local alleycats thought it would be a warm luxurious place to get some R&R. This will not do! Until I get my ragtop (note to self I *really* need to get in touch with Terry and find where that's up to!) and can seal it off, I've hit on the solution of putting a small tray of cat-repellent clay granules on the dash. I can't smell a thing but it seems to have worked - no evidence of recent habitation!
Any cat lovers will be relieved that I opted for this solution rather than some of my more elaborate ideas involving infra-red sensors, lasers, robot arms and vats of boiling oil....
