I am gradually tracking down all the trim bits I need but have failed to find the foam extrusion that Marlin use for the door and dash. Woolies have something similar but much smaller. Does anyone have any idea where else to look?

Hi Robin,
I have the Marlin supplied door seal. The closest I can see on the Woolies website is Door Seal 266A. But like you are not sure if it's identical. My seal rubber bit is about 20mm diameter so this one should be OK.
Marlin didn't provide anything for the dashboard (Terry confirmed by email that it is not included in the interior trim kit or the dashboard kit?)
I have bought some SRS26 Sponge extrusion from Woolies which I think will meeet the SVA because it is deformable under thumb pressure even though not 19mm diameter.
How do you read that section?
If not, I might have to fit some vinyl covered sponge or hose pipe.

I didn't get anything for the doors or dashboard either. Ended up using radiator pipe insultation for the bottom of the dash which more than covers it for SVA! For the doors I used CBS door rubber which seems to work pretty well.

Thanks lads - but the bit I am having problems finding is the D shaped rubber or foam that Marlin cover with leathercloth for the door capping and the top of the dash/scuttle join. Woolies have something (SRS8) but it is smaller and very expensive at £17.50 per metre! (Wow)

Hi Robin,
sorry, misunderstood your first post. Now I understand what you are looking for but i'm afraid I have not seen anything like it. It looks like some kind of packaging material?
I'd drop a note to CBS as those chaps are pretty knowledgeable and may know where it comes from?

Ahh I misunderstood you as well! Its made out of a white foam and looks to be shaped by hand from a larger piece. Not sure if you'll find something that is exactly the same.

I reshaped it a bit when we re-did these pieces. Took a bit out from behind the steering wheel so there is more room for you fingers and also from under the dials.

The ends are capped with 2.5mm thick cardboard to give them a hard edge.

Thanks Peter - that looks just the job if I can work out a way of slicing in half. It's closed cell foam and looks to be very flexible. I thought about using the normal pipe insulation that you get from B&Q etc. but discounted it because it soaks up moisture and is not very flexible.

I decided to buy a length of this stuff in case I need to protect the lower edge of my dashboard come the SVA day.
It's very soft and flexible, much softer than the foam used by Marln and the normal B&Q pipe insulation. You can probably just squash it to a 'D' shape without slicing it in half, but it might be too soft for the door cappings.

I have seen stuff like this but not as big. I guess 38mm will be about right. I'll measure the width of the door and see. I had thought about using central heating pipe insulation but it would have to be split in half which could be difficult.

Unfortunately door is wider than I thought at about 50mm - so it's back to the central heating foam idea....
