Another question about the bonnet :-)

I have not bought the Marlin trim kit and I was wondering what sort of seal they use where the bonnet fits the scuttle and nose cone. Is it just a flat rubber strip or something more sophisticated than that?

Also has anyone worked out how to put a seal on the trailing edge of the door? There doesn't seem to be any provision provided by Marlin and I guess if you are unlucky enough to be caught in the rain it will p1ss in there.

Its straight then towards one edge there's a bump, you can sort of see it in these picS:

Thanks Patrick. So would you say it is a P shape? I have had a look at Woolies web site and they don't seem to have anything quite like that.

I haven't got the trim kit either but I received the rubber seals when I bought the body parts. You should ask Marlin.

Thanks Alfie - I'll do that. Marlin seem a bit random sometimes with what they supply.

It's listed in their current price list as a separately orderable item. Current price is £25.49+vat :-(

Does anyone have a small piece of the bonnet rubber left (post build)? Marlin can supply it but:

a. Everything is packed away for the factory move so it will be at least 6 weeks
b. It seems a tad expensive from them.

So I thought I might try to source it myself - but it would be good to see a sample so I get the right stuff.

I now notice that Woolies do it as well, at about half the price I paid from Marlin! Only £2.31 per metere.

Started fitting my side bonnets today, more pictures later....

Thanks Peter. That looks like the one and you are right - Woolies do it as well. Good luck with the bonnet sides. I fitted the second of my A-panels today and had another go at bending the drivers door to shape which is a PITA to do.
