Wiper arm

29 Oct 2007, 10:40pm
Hi all,

I need to source a wiper arm for my car (my test wiper arm is a mk2 golf one, which is much too short), and I'm wondering what people have used.

I'd quite like to fit a more modern style blade (like they have on Lupos for instance), and I know Ric H has one like this - does anyone else?

Suitable donor suggestions would be very welcome!

Cheers,

John.

Why not try the Rover 200 arm with ebay No 140170353539

I used the original rear wiper arm from the Rover. But cannaballised a metro rear wiper motor so the jet squrts either side of the blade as it moves. Needed someone to weld it though.

I used the rear from a rover 216 of the earlier pre bubble shape.

I went for a citroen ZX arm as it's a single symmetical arm, and takes the new style retro-fit blades pretty well. The citroen takes a 24" blade; I've fitted a 26. Coverage in the rain is very good.

Cheers Rich.

When at the scrappers I was hoping to find a car with a single front arm, but no luck - my intention being to find one for couple of quid to try.

On the back of your advice I bought a zx arm from the local dealer, and coupled it to the 25" (?) blade I'd already bought - seems to work pretty well.
