About to start engine for the first time - any advice?
Yeah, run it a bit without sparks get the oil running round the engine. If you have a oil pressure gauge attached you can use that to check if the pressure comes up a bit.
You'll need to give it this long for the fuel to get to the injectors. I kinda pumped the throttle a bit but I don't think you need to do that with injection, but open the throttle a bit as it coughs to life to keep it from stopping.
I'm sure someone else will have a more informed reply, I'm just guessing based on what I did.
...agree, but don't use too much oil like I did!
I oiled up my spark plugs and had to take them all out again to clean them which is not fun as the cylinder no. 5 and 6 are pigs to get at.
I put a low value fuse in my fuselink, just in case. (It's still in there)
Otherwise, just cross you fingers and go for it! Have fun.
