Engine age

Hi all,
I need to obtain proof of age of my 1.6K series engine for SVA purposes. The engine is new and was never fitted to a car the only date that I have for it was that given to me by the seller (2001) which is born out by the dates on various labels on the engine loom and ancillaries. For SVA i need proof of its age from manufacturer etc has anyone got info as to where i can obtain such proof.

I saw something recently in a Kit car magazine which explains what the stamps mean on the engines - this then makes it possible to date. I will have a look when back home and will let you know a bit more.
