I know people will say Dax or one of the other big companies, but what about value for money?

If you compare a Cobra that costs £20k to one that costs £10k to build, Is the expensive one really worth that much more?

Which Cobra is best value for money?

A difficult if not impossible one to answer. Best cobra and best value for money. Jees not asking much, and questions which I think have no correct answer as there's simply nothing to back any answers up with.

So on that note and not attempting to back up my answer in any way shape or form I'm saying the DAX Tojeiro.

I believe it has something to do with the older gentleman wishing to re-live his youth in the car he dreamed of as a kid, then realising it's quite windy without a roof and those side mounted exhausts only sound great for the first 10 miles after which they have lost their hearing for a day or 2.

But hey, I might be wrong. After all, the Cobra and the '7' are the mainstay of the kit car industry.

Still can't understand why people buy them and most of all, with so many manufacturers, how they decide which one to build.

Thats funny The precision cut ( hacked) ply in the foreground was the previous owner/builders idea of holding the pedalbox/steering column in place

Strangely even looking like that, it doesn't look like a kit (to me at least).

I suppose thats the mark of a pretty good kit though, to look like it isn't one.

Which brings me back to those wretched Cobra's. Image owning a real one. Eveyone you meet will be admiring your car thinking 'em very nice kit this one!' No that must hurt 'em.

Fraid so! It had a sort of "Agricultural Ugliness" that appealed to me when I saw it At £200 It lends itself to a challenge to see how cheaply I can get it on the road Having just spent 20k + on the Cobra I wanted something that I could make/adapt from donor parts without buying loads of specialist parts.

Always liked the Eagle RV, much better looking than the Jago which was it's competitor at the time.

Always fancied one as a bit of cheap summer fun, but pratical at the same time (with a V8 of course)

Don't recall them being VW based. My memory only goes back as far as Ford Cortina based.

Originally VW based, then Cortina, and finally Sierra. Also Daihatsu F50 and Range Rover based 4x4's
Just been bought and re-released by Jordan Developments, In the Seirra form
