Spring has sprung

Received my custom made rear springs this week. Proper job....

My calcs produced a requirement of 225lbs and 8.5". In the end I had them made at 8" the plan being to use the adjustable spring plates to fine tune.

The springs are also smaller in diameter than the standard BMW ones so as not to foul the rear anti-roll bar.

Those look really nice! Should be interesting to see how it sits with those! I get the feeling that mines a tad too low on the coil overs, even on the highest setting!

Fiitted them tonight.

Without settling, bodywork, or me in the car there is about 6" clearance under my silencer. A bit more than I expected but think this will drop an inch or so once the bodywork is fitted, spare wheel fitted, tank of fuel etc...

So - it looks about right - maybe a tad high. I was originally aiming for a clearance of about 4.5" for the silencer - I recon it will be about 5".

What distance do you have from the bottom of the chassis rail (just in front of the wheel) to the ground?

Its 19.5cm off the ground at the back just in front of the wheel which google tells me is 7.67"

I borrowed a camber gauge of someone at work, I've got 2 degrees negative camber on each side at the rear. No doubt it will drop a bit more with fuel, spare and seats in.
