Hi Guys - does anyone else have one of these? If so, do you know what the thread size is on the inlet (yellow) port?
It's obvious that a threaded adaptor needs screwing in here that will provide a nipple for the fluid feed hose from the remote resevoir to push fit onto.
Didn't know that was on option on the Sportster! The mounting looks a bit stronger than that of the BMW item. Wonder is the pedal is any lighter than on the BMW one as its silly heavy on mine compared the others.
Rally Design (www.rallydesign.co.uk) sell all kinds of Wilwood stuff they should be able to help
Neither did I - I just ordered the Marlin supplied clutch master...
I fabricated the mounting bracket - it didn't come with one, and with it being completely different to the BMW one the mounting holes on the pedal box where useless.
It's just a bit of metal box section notched out to accept the cylinder which is then bolted on to the pedal box using a couple of tubular stand offs. Looking at the piccies on the 'build manual' CD, Marlin uses a folded metal bracket - which to my mind would flex under load.
Which is a much better suggestion than what Marlin gave me - unless I misunderstood the chap on the other end of the phone, he suggested I use the apator fitting that came in the HEL clutch pipe kit as the fitting - it looks like this:
He said I shoulf screw the concave end in to the input port and then force the feed pipe onto the convex threaded portion that would be sticking up! Not very good IMHO, especially as the damn thing is the wrong thread and size.
Another quick question - The BMW clutch slave cylinder - does anyone off the top of their heads know what the port size is on that? Is it likely to be another wierd imperial size on a German, and therfore throughly metric, car? I think It's 3/8" UNF.

It's a standard metric brake fitting size - the same as you would use for the braking system. I believe it is 10mm Metric fine - least that's what I used. See the Namrick web site for fittings. http://www.namrick.co.uk/browse.asp?PCID=18
BTW - I've just ordered a new clutch slave cylinder (the old one brushed up ok, but it's got some suspicious, rusty looking grot at the bottom of the port).
I got it from Motormec (I think I may have shares in them by now, the amount of business I've done with them )
I can't praise these guys enough. Everywhere else wanted 35 - 40 odd quid for one (I didn't even bother with BMW direct... ). Motormec has just done me one for £23 inc VAT and Delivery. Bargain!
If you need anything give them a ring first - you may be pleasantly surprised. The contact details are on their website:
I know what you mean I've spent so much money there too its just silly! I always deal with Andy - I get all my service bits for my daily driver there too, so does Richard.
Just for the record - The wilwood master does have a 7/16" input - I got the bsr-aerotek barb and it fits perfectly.
The 10mm metric fine adaptor I got as well works great in the slave (You where spot on Robin) but the female connector on the end of the clutch pipe is obviously imperial - The adaptor is a fraction too big for it. So I'm guessing it is 3/8" UNF, as that'd be just under 10mm with a similar looking thread.
So I'll stick with the marlin adaptor for now which is a smidge loose on the slave until you've tightened it up and put some pressure on the threads, as it fits the pipe fine. I think I should be ok - with it tightened up and with a dab of pipe seal on it I don't think it's going to leak...
Is http://www.bsr-aerotek.com working for you? I need to get some fittings as well. I'm binning the BMW master cylinder setup and using a Wilwood master with a wilwood cast ali frame to mount it instead.
Doh maybe they've gone under given the current climate, I've found suitable bits on nfauto and demon tweaks - typically not everything I need in one place
