We're going to be fitting the bonnet side panels and bonnet soon - any hints, tips or pitfalls to look out for?

Measure twice (at least) and cut once! Have you decided what tool you are going to use to trim the bonnet?

I've got a nibbler for my drill but I think it may make a mess of it with that so I'm thinking of investing in a good set of tin snips (I just got a Frost catalogue through the door!)

Do you think those hand nibblers are any good for trimming the bonnets to size?

I'll be picking up my body work in the next few weeks so I will try to find out what the Marlin guys use for this job.

How much oversize do the bonnets arrive?

Honestly I've not got a clue! I should think a hand nibbler would be much better then a drill based one as you can go slow.

Bonnet is quite a big chunk over size. I'll take a picture and post next time I get a chance.

I was just looking on the frost website but the new design is not compatible with firefox , I hate having to use IE! Anyway's (after digging out the printed catalogue!) They've got a set of manual nibblers that look pretty good, and also some "aviation" tin snips in either left or right variants - but they seem quite expensive at £20 a go.

Hmmm...those panels look seriously oversize. Need to get some good cutting tools ready.
