The filling and sanding I'm doing myself so its a self prep, my chap, Adrian Domm, who sprays are top dollah, (A.D.Autos Deal) he will spray anything, but he has reservastions about the kit re cracking ETC, but he will come round, oh and he wants to paint it red. It will be white as required.

Not one for the telly box but this was worth watching Magnifient Machines. The golden age of the British sports car, BBC 4 catch it on I player.

Original wipers fitted, will probably replace with chrome at a later date.

First sand after filling rear, more filler required and stopper ect, too cold for tonight though.

Front end needs work as well, invest in under armour clothing, under jeans t shirt ovealls and a fleece the cold is no problem. Thanks Seanick loveing the build blue seems good to me as well.

Mmm, the blue is actually satin gloss, painted over the. Original black. I will get it in grey primer first. What are you sanding with, and what grit?

Clarkes electric palm sander 80 grt as its early days. Will hand finish with 120 or finer.

Try the 80 grit on a block of pine or rubber, about 9" long. Its more effort, but you get it flatter quicker!

Most of Michas post dont seem to be very encouraging, there is little or no praise in his replies, and he is very critical of peoples work, without showing any if his own. Now maybe his replies get 'lost in translation'.
Maybe if he softened his style a little and added a little encouragement he would get along just fine!

Back to my car then , took a test drive today some rubbing on the rear right of the fiberglass (with suspension under load ie. me sat in it), re visted the area with my angle grinder and will road will test again, still have to sort the inner arches though so should be fine.

Inner wing adjusted with a tapometer, problem solved. Longer test drive today with sun shining and roof down, just need to get the sanding and filling finished.

Hi Tony Ive been rubbing down for te last week & still at it , but for filler you sould try 40 grit free cut or production papper it really takes it down then use a high build primmer to fill the snading marks,no need to use a finner grit untill its primed

Drove it to the paint shop today, he was impressed with the car and agreed not to paint it red, he then looked in a big book of paint codes, and it seems white was not used by the Italian car manufacturer untill the early eighties, he now wants to paint it a 1968 yellow, but I'm not so sure?

Id stay with your plan especially if the donor is white (doorshuts, engine bay etc etc. Yellow always seems to SCREAM kit car! (IMO)

Thanks Hammy, the donor is green so door shuts need paint anyway and there is little to see of the engine bay, Its not a replica and the wheels are early eighties, so I'm back to classic white.

Great word, not used enough in English choose is more fitting, but I prefer vaciullate, I will use this from now on procrastinate was what I thougt was clever for indesision.
