Moto lita steering wheel. It's enough to make a grown man weak at the knees....
And the final install of the radio. The red wire is just a temporary "arial". Most of the other wiring will disappear under the carpet. In the end I fitted it on the rear "shelf". It was that or the boot. But being on the rear shelf means that at least I can get to it to put in a CD. (Albeit only when stationary).
Any chances of some pics showing the adaptor plate? I guess it's just a lump of polished, machined metal with the 6 x 70mm holes interspersed with the moto ones...

It's a little more complex than that - but that is the basic idea. I'll try and poost a picture tomorrow. Mine is painted - as it matches better with the Momo adapter. (Also, the polished one is about another tenner plus then you would need the billet horn push which is about another £30) It adds about 15mm to the "height" of the momo adapter so in my case I didn't need a dished wheel. In fact the 14" flat wheel I selected is about right. I think a 13" would be too small. In fact I think you could probably even go for the 15" wheel.
The wheel itself seems to be well made. The wood is laminated. I reckon you could get a good match with some good quality mahogany or merranti marine ply. I too am thinking about replacing the door caps and dash eyebrow with a laminated wood version - but that'll be next winters project...

That is a super wheel and goes well with your dashboard style. I think the grip will be good and the larger diameter will make the steering lighter when parking. Good choice!

The only thing I'd be a bit worried about with the radio where you've put it water getting to it
I have to confess I hadn't thought about that. I guess that the cover should keep a lot of it out though. I already made up a new front plate to cover the area left when I removed the face. The main place where it is vulverable is at the back where all the connections are. Hmmmm - I may box that in completely. Then there would have to be several inches of water in thae car to be a problem!

I completed the "boot" today except for the top fixings which will have to wait till the tub comes off for painting. (Roll bar cross member in the way!)
I had a brain wave about the aerial. I used a £2 pillar mount job from Ebay but on a home made bracket that allows it to be swivelled down when not in use. Seems to work OK (in the garage anyway....) The bracket incorporates a couple of nylon washers to isolate the aerial from the body. I need to find a plastic clip to help support it when it is up.
Also had a play with the polishing stuff that I bought and the rattle can of Audi Amulet Red that I intend to use.
It's easy to get a mirror shine - but very tricky to get it consistent. I will have a go at one of the bonnets next weekend.
