Today's sortie in the A352 was to the Cotswold Classic Car Club meeting at Shipton Oliffe, about 15 miles from home. It took half an hour longer than anticipated to get there as the police had closed the main road following an incident. The detour seemed to completely bamboozle many fellow motorists, resulting in frustrating tail backs.
Anyway, on arrival, the event was well stewarded and I soon found myself parked amidst some giant US metal.
Wandering up and down the rows of classics I espied many gems, prominent amongst which were this glorious T2 and a somewhat incongruous Dingo.
A distinctive burble from the direction of the entrance had me scurrying across the field with my camera to witness the arrival of this beauty, freshly returned from racing at the Le Mans Classic.
To compound my dismay, a few minutes later his equally loaded chum arrived and parked next to him.
I think the last time I saw two short nose D-Types at a venue was the Silverstone Classic in 2013. They were absolutely glorious!
My own seriously down-market evocation drew a lot of interest, at least one punter copying down my e-mail address from the 'For Sale' sign I'd pegged to my screen.
I'd have loved to have hung around for the Spitfire fly-past scheduled for 1415 but it was so hot that I left at 1300. Just as I fired up the beast this beautifully restored 101 Land Rover arrived, so I shot over for a quick chat and a photo'. The road home had thankfully been re-opened so the largely down-hill return was uneventful.
I listed the A352 on Ebay starting at 2000 hours yesterday.
This morning, less than 12 hours have passed, and it has 1017 views, 132 watchers and 14 bids. The current high bidder is the comedian who was selling the yellow Moss Monaco. I'm praying he's out-bid. Only nine and a half days to go, fingers crossed!
Hi Mick, if you fancy another sortie to Castle Combe the Bristol Motor Club are having a show there this Sunday, for £15 you can go round the track at a sensible pace behind a safety car, it would be good to see both of our cars on track but appreciate you will probably not want to go with you selling it, if you do decide to go just say you are with Kitnet and its parking zone A right in the paddock, entry is free

here is a video of the parade lap I did at Castle Combe Summer festival a few weeks ago, I can be seen at approx 2 minutes 30 going past the camera car
I've sold quite a few cars and bikes on Ebay over the years and have had my fair share of inane questions, but this one takes the biscuit. Quite why they think I might be interested in how many other kit cars they own/have owned is beyond me, and the concept of an auction shouldn't be that difficult to grasp. Unless you're a moron. 'I'll give you £xxxx and pick it up tomorrow mate' aaaaaaaaaaargh!
She's now had 4393 views, and there are 341 watchers. Yellow Monaco Guy is still the highest bidder. I expect further bids (if any) will be in the last seconds: could be an exciting time. However, if she sticks at £12k I'll be more than happy as this is almost exactly what I've spent on her replacement, which arrives on a low loader Thursday AM. I've transferred the insurance and tidied up my front garden 'landing strip' which will be its new home until the A352 departs.
You paid the same for that as the A352 is at?

I think it's worth every penny (obviously, or I wouldn't have bought it). The gel coat is immaculate, as is the interior. Wheels and tyres are perfect, the engine is to fast road spec. on twin 40s, it goes like stink and handles like a go-kart. Continuous MOTs back to the 70s authenticating its 68k mileage and, best of all, it's practical with full weather gear, the lack of which was a major drawback of the A352. Considering the A352 only cost £5.5k and provided countless hours of building and driving pleasure, converting its proceeds into an ideal all weather fun car (which can only appreciate) for my eighth decade strikes me as a good deal

Unfortunately not, it's a 1600 x-flow, neither does it have wobbly webs .
However, it is after all a classic open Chapman era two seater, eligible for the HLR .
I'll be putting my S4 project up for sale once I'm back from my hols on 21 August. Once again I'll let the market decide its worth, but I won't give it away.
I ripped this photo' from the Ebay advert when I bought it in 2011, the vendor told me he was reducing his stock of 72 projects down to 40!
S4 rebuild- a labour of love for someone but a very straightforward build.
My S1 was banana'd when I got it but I rebuilt it from the chassis up.

Incidentally depending on how tomorrow goes at Supercar Bealiue , i may put my Mx 250 on Ebay, so following your Auction closely.

Nice Anglia, mine rotted away and became a Jago. The Stryker is the best handling 7 clone, just a bit narrow in the seating area which is why I had to get a Fury.
Well, I'm more than happy with what the A352 made and am glad that the waiting's over: those ten days seemed to last for ever! I wasn't the only one, either. I received a PM on Ebay just after it finished which I was tempted to delete without opening, thinking it was yet further drivel. Imagine my surprise when I read this:
'What a wonderful car. I hope it made more than you expected. I enjoyed your description of how the car had been built, and have spent an agonising few days trying to come up with enough money, but with school fees and a mortgage it is something of a relief that it is now sold!

I'm off to the South Cerney Classic Car Show this morning in the Seven. I was pounced on in the petrol station yesterday, so perhaps my A352 experiences are to be reprised in its replacement......
Glad you sold your car and got a good price, Can i ask why you went for Auction style sale which is possibly risky (unless you have a reserve) rather than buy it now.
Again more research for when / if i put mine (if i can stand entering Numpty world) .
I bet you chewed your nails down to elbows in that auction period.
Followed your build from the start, never saw the car despite living in Brockworth and competing at Prescott - now I spend the weekend at the South Cerney show (as we have done for the past few years) and I had to leave this afternoon without seeing your new toy!

I opted for auction simply to let the market decide its value. I set the reserve at the minimum I'd take for it: if it hadn't reached that figure I'd have kept it. Luckily, I wasn't far off. The ten days only seemed to drag because of the stream of inane questions aimed at me.

The new owner only lives in Leamington Spa, so I imagine it'll be at both Prescott and Shelsley once in a while. When I see him I'll big up this year's Castle Combe classic.......
The top bidder for my car jerked me around for a week, initially saying he couldn't get a loan, then that he couldn't collect it in time for this year's show season, before backing out. My second chance offer was then taken up by a gentleman who yesterday informed me that he didn't think he'd be able to get in and out of it, so also backed out.
