I have repainted front grill and bonnet, built a better booth with fishing line dustsheets and a stapler. seems to have gone in ok. The thing with the paint is to just go for it if you are half hearted it dont work you need to put plenty of paint on so it looks wet , it dont run unless you go bonkers. And if it does then you can just rub it flat and try again. Very forgiving. Anyway have given the car a couple of hours with 2000 grit the rear shot is out the gun haven't touched it. Most of it looks pretty flat already, then I have a mirka arbaron 4000 grit pad to go over then polish.
Have started to put a few bits on, a bit prematurei know but thats men for you !
Hey Drummajor metallic silver please. My donor was met silver and i just couldnt decide on a colour. Also now insides look the same. Did you get yours registerd ok ? I did mine last year, DVLA gave a quick look over and gave me Tribute 250GT on log book. They forgot the O but its good enough.
Is it worth all the hassle of getting the log book changed just to get Tribute mx250 printed in it?
Anyone who buys the car is going to know what it is. From 1st October there are going to be no tax discs displayed and that would be the only advantage I can see would be not to have mx5 printed on the tax disc.
My friend is a traffic officer and he said if something looking like an MX250 drove past and it came back as a MX5 he would tug it. Also I think its part of the process. You take an ordinary car and turn it into something extraordinary and it should have a log book to show that. And it will help when you want to sell your car if you register it correctly. People like bits of paper.
Have started to put in my lights and stuck my plate on with some tape to check out what it looked like. want the car to look aged what you think.
I am a big fan of the aged patina look, mostly because I am aged myself! Silver really suits the shape. Will you be making the trip upto Stoneleigh in May Roger?

I would like to but it is highly unlikely. will look forward to the pictures.
The car is MOT'd and taxed and on the road. After a few periods of non activity it is nice to finally get her out and about. Interior to finish but that will come !
