With your lamp problem, would it help to wire the lamp in parallel rather than in series?
Just a thought.

Sorry Scottie22, don't think I understand

The problem with the lamps is to do with the design pattern in the glass, they are Deffo for left hookers. Not a problem as CBS do them for about 20 quid each :)

Perhaps I misunderstood, I thought you said the engine carried on running but stopped when you pulled a bulb out?
If that was so it may be that the bulb was wired in wrongly?

Ah I see, you where referring to a prev post re the alternator, sorted with a resistor, was wired wrongly lol

Great! good luck with the rest of it.

Thanks Scottie, just need o figure out how to reduce noise and more importantly the brake balance!

Can I out reducing valve in for the rears? The problem I have is the weight distribution is 850 rear and 600 front!

Try giving these fellas a ring, I found their details on the net.
Apparently they do a remote bias adjuster system for around 40 quid!
You just bolt it on.

Look at ebay item 250879771956, you could pack your silencers with his stuff to pass, then take it out after!

Got a plan of attack now, just need to sort when :)

Please can I have your opinions on this please-

Going to use a proportional valve that will allow me to restrict the pressure to the rear brakes. Will this be IVA friendly?
27 Nov 2013, 10:00pm
I would have though that you need to increase the pressure on the front brakes, rather than decrease it on the rear. There seem to be plenty of cheap bias adjusters on the net that let you do just that, dial up what you want, where you want?
23 Dec 2013, 5:54pm
Well, after the third attempt, the car has now passed the IVA :)
23 Dec 2013, 8:58pm
Congratulations!

How did you sort the brake bias out in the end?
30 Dec 2013, 8:17pm
Hi Scottie,

Sorry for the late reply, I added an adjustable proporsioning valve for the Rees. Once found the correct balance, drilled thru and removed the knob so it's disabled as its not allowable under IVA to be adjustable ;)

Well done! really good thinking.
Some regulations are really odd at times...........

I took it to an mot station before going and was ok so I drove to the IVA and enjoyed every minute even though it was hissing it down

Saw this on LCB - congrats on IVA :)

Posted my forms to the dvla on the 30th dec, hoping for a quick turn around, then detail the car ready for the car cover to go on. Lol

Great news.

Look forward to seeing a few more photos of your car "on the road".

Enjoy, Paul. :)

Thanks Paul.

Just changing the plugs at the mo, couldn't get to 4 so took the manifold off changed them now can't get the damn thing back on.

Funny thing is,tried the other side and managed to get the plugs out with a spanner without taking the manifold off!!!!

Doh!

Finding it difficult to get into gear.

Have bled clutch but still the same. Could low gearbox oil cause this or barking up the wrong tree?
12 Feb 2014, 3:49pm
Are you rod-shift or cable?

I had no end of problems with the rod-shift in mine as it was like "think of a gear", which is why i switched to the cable operated and after that it was SO much more precise.

Hi DAve,

It is cable operated. Was ok when 1st started driving, now I can't put it into reverse without turning the engine off, put it into reverse and then starting up again!?

Vacuum gauge has arrived, so once I have done some garden chores, I will be tuning the carb then give the car a good clean inside and out and it the weather stays nice, might go for a spin around the villages near me :)
