A car engineered to this standard shouldn't have a problem. It is certainly doable.

I know, my point was in the US you can take a car, chop it apart and go drive it which you can't in the UK.

Anyway, back on topic.

I am fortunate to be able to be as creative as I want, thankfully. Where I am in the US there's absolutely no kind of inspection since it is already titled. I just have to pay my money and get on the road (if that ever happens)! I have been slaving away doing dirty work but I have some updates coming soon.

Can someone tell me why I cannot see any picture in this thread?

Help is very much appreciated!

Thanks, Axel

Did you try updating your flash extension? I am using imgur to host the photos, are you having problems seeing other images hosted on that site?

I made some progress a while back but neglected to post. This was tedious work but it had to be done. I decided to add some gussets from the rear frame crossmember that would tie in to the strut tower area/frame rails.

Next I prepped the whole floor, top and bottom to remove any paint, surface rust, and factory undercoating.

Priming, seam sealing, undercoating

Painting the chassis, firewall and interior floor

seam sealed the interior floor for now

installing the front end and engine

Next up I AM starting on the body buck. But this project is taking a back seat for a few more months while I finish an engine swap/refresh in another car I have.

It has been quite some time since I updated. I have been working on translating a 3d model into a real physical structure and all is going well so far.

I ended up shortening the sides approximately 2" for the wheelbase to match the body as well as massaging the rear quarters to look closer to photos.* Visually it looks correct after a quick photoshop job too.* I have to just assume the 3d model I have been working with*was a tad out of scale.* Unfortunately*the 3d printed parts are quite fragile and I need to reinforce the insides before I crack any more pieces off...* After that I can begin hard mounting everything on the chassis.* The plan is to have it all be bolt on*for ease of removal as needed for working on specific sections.*

That wire frame is a work of art in itself.

Good luck, Paul. :)

The thread that keeps on giving. Love it. As Paul said, piece of art in itself:tea:

Thanks fellas. It's nice to be at a point to see things coming together and not have all my planning and work so far be totally off!

Hi Garth,
Sorry for the lack of updates on this site! I have worked on it in bursts. I have the door jambs and door frames constructed out of steel and will be skinning the doors in aluminum shortly.
