I think with the price of Borrani's you can specify the off set. It's just how the spokes are set up.

Hi,
All I can say is what he told me, he is basically going to take the car to a place who are going to make the wheels for him.
They want the car to sort out offsets etc.
If I get any more info I will gladly share it here, like wise pics of the car finished with the wheels fitted.

They have done a fantastic job on that,
I have been following the build on FB, a proper Stirling Moss replica, Scottish Blue I think.
The car will need an IVA so they may have some hurdles to over come yet.

Back to the owner
The owner came and got the car today, the rear window mod and the fuel filler relocation has worked very well on this car in my opinion along with the raised sill and curved doors.
The Herald door handles work ok but to me are too high up on the doors, I have pushed the boat out and got the original ones for my build now.
I do like the Herald boot lid handle, I managed to get a new old stock one for mine now as well, the added bonus is it does not hit the boot lid unlike the Mini one.
We got the parcel shelf trimmed before the rear window went in, unfortunately I forgot to get any pictures of this, however it did look very good.
All in all the job has come out very well, a ton of hard work, and many many hours have gone in to it, the customer is going to get the grille to fit a bit better and then I can paint that for him.
Any way some pics for those interested.

Not sure of the height of the car, it does sit nice and low, when I drove it over to the trimmers it drives very well but the suspension is a bit firmer than an old git like me would like.
The chap who owns it is going to finish the rest, he has the proper spots for it, some really nice door mirrors, he is going for a roof mounted Ariel, I think with the wires it will certainly look the part.
He has been making enquires about bumpers also.
A decent exhaust is also on his shopping list along with an interior re do, the trimmer was not too keen to tackle the headlining due to the fitted cage, he did say he would do it but was quoting 1k.
He also has to do the splash shields front and rear and sort out the wiring.
When done I will get some pics of the finished car and put them here.

Wow! What a difference a rear window makes - if you're looking to replicate the original then that rear end is streets ahead of any other Tribute out there. An unbelievable difference - massive reduction in the slabby looking weight of the buttresses and looks far more curvy somehow.
Shuts look fantastic, paint always hard to gauge in pics but reflections look pinstripe and reflections remarkable true - especially over troublesome door skins. I know how many man hours have gone into this but not a single one wasted - hats off!
If you could supply it as a retrospective mod for built cars I suspect you'd have a big queue.
From the sound of it the customer is throwing some substantial money in, what with custom Borani's and also it will be the first coupe with bumpers. Once complete it has to be the one to beat.
The one thing I'm not keen on and never have been (but its down to the kit) is the window frames but there's nothing you can really do about that.
Testament to your skills that your techniques and mods are already being copied in other builds. Amazing to see how the builds are coming on in terms of finesse now

The rear window does make all the difference. Surely someone can come up with a cheaper version with maybe no vent. It could even be cheaper than getting an MGB window. Well worth Chris offering this on the MK2 version!

Hey welcome back Scott,
And of course Richard, Scott and Steve the Herald boot handle is the same size square drive so you could fit it to yours no problem, you may have to fill the two small holes that will have been drilled for the Mini handle as I don't think the plinth on the herald one will cover it.
The other thing to think of is locating it, I have drilled the square drive and used a split pin behind a washer that I filed in to a square shape, it seems to do the job ok.
I did notice Nubodi are fitting the frames 1st and bonding the skins on now, it is the way forward and the doors shut with a nice solid feel to them now, I did mine ages ago and noticed that DNA do the same to their kit.
The down side is that you wont be able to do any maintenance on the outer frame once the skin is bonded on, the inner one is still removable.
I am half way thru making completely new frames for my car, I have had them bent up in stainless that will be mirror polished, I will still go for sliding glass for ease, but they wont run down hill like the Tribute design does.
And yes the customer has spent a few pennies on this build weather or not it is returnable when/if he sells I guess we will have to wait and see, he knew exactly how he wanted the car to look and I think we have achieved that for him.
And I must say he was great to work with, however my swear box at the workshop is overflowing now as these kits do have issues that need sorting and that takes time and that costs money.

Hi Mike,
It is my fabricator mate doing them, at the moment all I have done is made some templates of the window aperture from hard board, he has then bent the u section around that.
We still have to work out a way of fitting them to the doors, it will need doing before final painting in case of any mishaps etc .
Their is a problem with trying to make them all the same and that is that your skins could be fitted higher than mine, it would only be a few mm but may make a difference so a template would be required.
He may not even want to make any more so I would have to ask him, he made the vent for the Blue car and has made me one of them for my car.
Price wise ? I have no idea yet but will pass on the details when I know.
This is a picture of my former's that I gave him, I just made sure they followed the roof line to the mm, he then dropped the frames down about 5mm, also a pic of the vent , done in alloy and nicely polished.

I played a relatively small role in this , fitting the kit was straight forward ..the rear screen and fuel cap were not too bad to do in comparison with Jeffy Baby's work ...
Anyone thinking of doing the rear screen conversion , be aware the Tribute car is slightly wider than the GTO Engineering offering and the rear screen highlights this ...its a bit of a faff to get the two to live together harmoniously ...

Yes the only thing stopping me is the work I have already done, and the fact you have to relocate the boot lid hinges, it would have been a ton easier with the lid off.
