My Merc has a Speed Limiter that works like cruise control but stops you exceeding a certain speed. 70mph on A roads and 80mph on motorways stops you drifting to far but lets you maintain the flow of traffic

I have been using the Torque Pro App for several years and I recommend it to all. There is no other app like it for the car. There is something similar for iOS users called DashCommand but in my opinion its nowhere as good as Torque.

As for the Chinese HeadsUpDisplay, all I can say is that there is something very similar for Android called "Navier HUD" and its free !

A little word of warning about the 60's style wing mirrors, they look great but the rear visibility is awful. I have wing mirrors on my old Jag, look good but to be honest dangerous on todays busy roads. A classic style door mirror is a better idea.

This is the customers choice of mirror and positioning...not ours.

Afternoon Jaguartvr , these are the second set of this type of mirror and I agree that they can be dangerous , I bought the current fitted set at an AutoJumble but before paying for them tested them for visibility , this set is perfectly usable , ok more care has to be taken and they will never be as good as the mirrors currently fitted to modern cars but this set does work and are not dangerous ,

The cost of welding up the holes in the wing and repainting makes it too expensive for me to move mine now and 2 sets looks stupid!

I must admit the mirrors O had on my mx250, I couldnt see a thing out of them, they were just a waste of time. Hopfully where yours are positioned you can see a lot more.

Why do people need too see what's behind them? Surely the road ahead is more important

6 points speeding. Not proud and agree I was guilty.

3 points running out of petrol on motorway slip-road for service station with my front number plate in line with the end of motorway sign. That struck me as harsh.

We are going to be selling some really nice steering wheels. They come with the Ferrari logo (or anything else you want) in the centre. They are 73 PCD so no adapter needed. They fit straight onto the Z3 aftermarket boss and are the best looking we have found for any money. They are light coloured wood not the mahogany coloured which is more like the real one.
They will be £150 + P&P or collect in person. No balti tins needed!

Hmmm, I think it depends what you're trying to achieve. I've gone with stainless Torpedo mirrors (knowing full well they'll be rubbish - Richard tried to talk me out of it!) because many original 250 SWB cars run with Torpedo mirrors. Some 250's only had a single Torpedo mirror and some have no side mirrors at all!

Sometimes it's just about getting the looks right....

I agree that the mirrors have got to look the part, but I also want mine to work for reasons of self-preservation.

Why not make a feature of them though? I couldn't find anywhere on my Spyder that the chrome bullet mirrors I wanted would look right and give me any sort of view behind, so I put them up on alloy plinths -

I'm not suggesting full-on caravaner extensions, but classic long stem door mirrors wouldn't look out of place on a 50's/60's Ferrari imho.

Have been very busy on customer builds lately but will hopefully get some more of the interior done this week. Im the mean time Scott (smash) has been working on a new fascia for the Z3 clocks...impressive so far!

Scott has just sent through the finished plan for the gauges. We have to get this printed and affixed to the bezel now to see how it will look with the Z3 chrome rings behind the perspex.

I managed to get a couple of hours away from customer builds today. The first job was finding a new home for the stereo which obviously became homeless when the centre console was removed. I re-routed the wiring and the aerial wire to see my options of where I could put it. I decided on the glove box. I chopped a very big hole in the back of the glove box and mounted it in there.

I made use of the earth pole at the rear and made a bracket to secure it in place.
