Umm, I'm still undecided about tyre on rear, will put the front one on the back to see what that looks like next. My Wife definitely wants the 235/55 on rear, but what does she know! shes probably right, anyhow we'll see.

Thank you Roadster, its coming along and really I want to get to the fun bit of the fine detailing when all the major body bits are done.I reckon I'm about 50% the way there and the transformation is starting to show now, I hope to get a good weekend on it, electrics are next big job.

But for me, too much tyre on the rear, almost comedy hot rod stance....

Do you have 2 of the smaller tyres mounted, so you can see them both together on the same side...?

Nice progress, and starting to look really good.
I like the way that the 65s fill the rear arches though I think they also raise the back end too much.
Could we see a photo of one side of the car with 55s on both front and rear?

Ha ha,,,,, nope. I have 4 x 65's and 1 x 55. Need to get another 55 I agree.

That looks a good colour scheme - the black grille surround is a good contrast to the grille slats.

Yeah, It came like that straight from Tribute and I sort of like it but have other plans......

Eric - This may be a daft question, but are you building the coupe, or convertible, SWB?

Also, just so I can understand it, is the Tribute grill surround fibreglass?
( As some builders clearly have a shiny metal surround on their cars. )

Finally, whilst I have enjoyed following this build, you are closer to finishing after less than 2 months, than I am after 3 years!

Convertible, as couldn't even consider turning a convertible into a hardtop, so really chuffed when Tribute bought it out

Yep grill is fibreglass, I will have it finished to my spec, maybe they have sprayed theirs? I need to do some adjustments there though, as with the rest of the car to get things to fit well. You can't see it in the photos but there is a small lip all along the top edge where it doesn't meet the front part of the main bonnet section and it really will stand out when finished, anyhow thats fine and will be classed as tinkering time.

I think its an illusion, as I have still to refit the back end correctly and there is still lots of wiring, washer jets, suspension, tyres and wheels, door locks and opening, vents, sealing, the list goes on and on......

I just wanted to get the bulk of it done whilst the weather was good, but in reality I won't be going anywhere in it until good weather time next year.

Ha ha, kit only arrived on 1st August and we are still in August and I had a week in Italy and 1 week away on business, for me its lagging to far too long already.

Your build is progressing really well . I still can't see why Nubodi are quoting a build time of 320 hours . A mate from work built a Kobra in just a couple of weekends minus the paint . They do go together quite quickly if you have the skills.

Used a cutting drill bit to open holes out and will fine tune with dremel

It takes a steady hand and also make sure to keep drill chuck from contacting with car body to prevent damage

They look really neat- certainly a detail worth adding.

Duct tape is your friend here- both round the chuck and on the bodywork.

I hope they won't be a liability in wet weather. The Z300S has 4 "gills" behind each wheel and I haven't found them to be a problem. Might be different when the body is painted. Currently when the bodywork gets grubby, I use that as another opportunity to smooth it using 1200 grade paper wet.

Is it possible (desireable?) to make a vent through from the cabin to allow through-flow of air and prevent/minimise condensation in wet weather?

I guess so, but as mine will stay a convertible I hope not to have that issue to deal with, thanks

I wanted to consider exactly putting a hardtop on, but as the rear body section fits on top of the existing structure then sorry I am told and can confirm that a hard top can't be added, a modification could be made to accommodate for it by trimming back the body that prevents it from fitting, but then there would be this unsightly lip/step and not sure about fixing issues and also rain run off, however as mentioned before I don't see that as a problem as it never rains in MK

If anyone has a suggestion on fitting a hardtop then I would love to hear it as it would be the icing on the cake for me.
