Showing the front put back together....

And the interior......

Top work that, those guys have some skills, I like it!
31 Jul 2015, 7:06pm
Looks great, so you have the updated body styling going on
Is it getting a full respray if so what colour you going for.
31 Jul 2015, 8:20pm
Yes it will have a full 2015 conversion but will have a few modifications to make it a 1 off.

Heres the 'money shot'.....

Dash all fitted/working looking well
3 Aug 2015, 8:45pm
That is way cool.....
Have you kept the airbags too...?
Gotta say, those guys dont hang about...!
16 Aug 2015, 9:12am
Im not sure onhow to go about keeping the airbags as the ML had airbags in the doors which wont be in the G doors. I may be able to add some sort of resistors in place of them so the car thinks they are still there so the steering wheel and dash airbags still work

The car is now at tribute for the bodykit modifications and sorting out of central locking/power windows etc. They are a but busy there so it will be under wraps for a few month which suits me while I save some cash up to get it sprayed.

Well done. I have been thinking about doing this except I wanted to use a Land Cruiser 80 as the base. I thought of using the ML but the wheelbase difference would be an issue. The Land Cruiser frame has the same wheelbase as the G and would look more convincing because of the solid axles. Using the ML you have kept it Mercedes. Would you mind telling us how yow shortened the ML wheelbase to fit the G body? Thanks a lot.

The wheel base difference wasnt an issue as you can see by the pics, it fit with no modification to the chasis. The differences in wheelbase from the G to the ML is minimal and obviously not noticable. The ml chasis wasnt shortened or modified in any way.

....therefore avoiding the dreaded Q plate.
7 Sep 2015, 12:29pm
I didn't think they put cars on Q plates any more?
7 Sep 2015, 1:21pm
Yep. Apparently if you have less than 8 points you will get a Q. Take a look here
7 Sep 2015, 1:58pm
Whilst many people don't like Q registration marks, in this case it is of lesser consequence. If the chassis was modified Danny's car would require an IVA which would be very difficult to pass.

That's a fantastic job Danny, and an inspiration to us all. Well done. I look forward to seeing it after Chris and Dan have worked their magic.

The G wagon is still at the tribute dreams factory which I need to visit before Chris starts working on it. Its a bit difficult for me at the moment with not much free time so I'm hoping to visit Dec/Jan time and hopefully be dropping off a Z4 as well for another project!...........

Ive just had a look at the 'bodykit' set on ebay and I payed a lot more than what he's asking but the quality doesn't look very good on the pics and shows 2 different types of front bumper and no rear bumper?

Kudos to you for the vision and to Coltech for the welding, this is quite a machine! I followed the work on the G-Wagon forum - what a grumpy lot on there!!!

Any progress re. bodykit?
25 Dec 2015, 12:00pm
Yeah there wasnt many on the G wagon forum happy that I cut an old G wagon up! I bought it, I do with it what I will!

The body work and kit etc will be fitted in the new year. Its at Tribute at the min but I know how busy Chris and Dan are but hopfully it will be done in within the next 2 months or so. Im in no rush for it as I dont have the money yet to get the car sprayed or the interior re-trimmed.

It might crack on a little faster if I sold the Kobra.

I saw this, and thought of you...

Hows the Gwagen going?
31 Mar 2016, 3:43pm
I actually called down tribute a few weeks ago to have a look at the condition it was in. Im going to pull my finger out and get it sorted in the next month or 2.....

Hi Danny, is this G project still on the cards?
