Constructed a simple exhaust today.

I drove this little beastie out of the work shop today and around the yard under it's own power it even stopped when asked :amen:

The clutch is Triumph system with a BMW slave cylinder so it's a little "wild" and I spent most of the time spinning the wheels.




This is going to be either "fun" or "dangerous" on the road.:biggrin:

On track for Castle Combe on the 25th.

Here a "moon buggy" photo as I know Mr T has a liking for them.



I might yet go digital with the dash, awaiting a GPS speedo which will live on the steering column.



I left it parked outside my workshop today. When I returned and came around the corner it just looked like it's got "attitude".

Fitted the 3 point harnesses today so still on track for Castle Combe.



What to do some thing different with the back lights.
Found these in the shelf, there is enough room to place a mini indicator on the chrome at the bottom?
Or I could just place a pair of classic round style next to them. :icon_confused:

Lights now fitted.



I think it's just about ready to test drive and I'm hopping to MOT it this week but right now an attack of gout in my left foot is stopping me from driving :icon_sad:

MOT'ed today :rockon::rockon:

I am presently surprised at the way it drove.
Apart from major clutch pedal problem it was much like any other SAMMIO I have driven.
Every thing bounces around as per any kit car on standard springs (not forgetting this body is bolted on) but on-the-whole no bad habits :icon_mad:

The up-take of power is so far smooth and user friendly on a dry road.

I think this will give a false sense of security, it'll put a huge smile on your face and then bite you in the ass just when your not expecting it :scared::scared:

I NOW CLAIM TO HAVE THE FASTEST AND MOST FUN SAMMIO ON THE ROAD :focus:

PS. I have decided I don't like the back lights so I'll change them when it go's for paint.
Still plan to be at Castle Combe this weekend.:biggrin:

Photos of the beastie.
If you look closely you can see the temporary body fitting bolts. I plan on replacing them with stainless dome head bolts.







The mirrors were needed for the MOT, not pretty but I had to get to the test.

Will look out for you at Castle Combe. I hope the exhaust is quieter than it looks as they are strict on decibels there.

Fitted the screen today.





I think the troublesome clutch is down to the master cylinder so a new one is on order.
I hopping the new one arrives before the weekend so I can drive car too Castle Combe.:eusa_pray:

After much drinking of tea and eating hob-nobs I decided to change the back lights :icon_cool:

Spent today waiting for the master cylinder to arrive :playball:
It finally arrived a 16:30 hours. :frusty:

While I have been waiting I sorted out a hard tonneau cover.




We all know the hard tonneau's are a good thing as they help keep you warm and dry, but they are a pain to stow as there so big and the Spyder does lack boot space, so :flame:

If you look closely you'll see a row of rivet which are attached to a piano hinge.



This is so the tonneau can fold in half and stow beside the passengers seat.


It's a bit heath-robinson but it works. I might try a similar thing for the drivers side.
