Another 250 SWB build

Thank you DaveP, yes its coming together nicely. I do like Ian & Co's approach to things I must say too...inspires confidence!

Agree on the 275 but still prefer the 250 SWB personally!

That custom boot/filler relocation work looks top notch.

Must admit their interior packages and the Grassbank stuff are tempting... my first thoughts before I went for the Kali was restomod style. Having seen that air ride 250 GTO rep and knowing the extra offsets available courtesy of the hub mods. Restomod swb on air....hmmm

The fuel pipe looks very low to me, there is quite an up and down movement on the rear wheel suspension travel.
I made sure that my fuel pipe didn't drop below the line of the inner wheel arch.

putting it out there for next time ... if that filler was on the other side of the car would have been much easier? Not period I know but that’s a tricky problem dealt with by compromise.

.. no one lynch me please :)

That was pretty much my first question but we’re above the line of the BMW inner wheel arch liner (not that it’ll be going back in itself - will fabricate new!)

Very true it would have been easier, but we all like a challenge once in a while don’t we???:thumb:

I’m away briefly but Ian@Classic has been continuing his excellent efforts and kindly sent the following pics;

Here you can see the fuel filler pipe heads initially directly forwards towards the bulkhead...

At the bulkhead right at the back of the boot to keep the space as usable as possible it takes a 90-degree turn and runs parallel to the bulkhead, continuing its steady fall as it does so

At the right hand side a pair of 45-degree bends allow the pipe to continue to the cutout that was made previously through the relatively flat sheet metal at the side of the boot here. It joins on to the pipe shown in last week’s posts and into the tank. A continuous fall from filler neck to tank, if a little convoluted to retain the usability of the boot-space. Yet to be tested at the pumps but we’re very hopeful!
