BTW Today, I've been working on the rear wheelarches liners (again galv. mesh with fibreglass. I know it's going over the top, and there are quicker cheaper ways of doing it, but I'm enjoying the process, and like to do a good job! I didn't see the need for any rivnuts, as they held themselves in place anyway, so just bonded them in with crystic bonding paste, then fibreglass around the edges. I'll put on a final layer of tissue tomorrow, and maybe a bit of filler to smooth it all off. Happy days!
If your'e trying to achieve an arch, one simple way I've found is to make a rectangle of fibreglass sheet (thin, only about 2mm max) and then just bend it to shape. It will bend back of course, but if you clamp it in the curved position, and add a GRP edge to it, once it's dry you have the desired shape in smooth GRP
I use flexible garden bag fillers. Large plastic sheet that is 1mm thick, easy to cut with scissors, you can bend it with ease and stick it together with duct tape. Ideal to use as a former and layer GRP on top form inner wheel arches or to modify panels.

I have now got all the Polyester primer blocked down and the car is now in 2k high build primer.
I also made a rear crash frame the same as I did on my one, also got the boot lock in place, and managed to get some colour on the insides of the Boot lid, doors, bonnet etc.
Pics for those interested.
The center of the Boot lid and Bonnet insert will be satin blacked once the paint has hardened enough to mask on.

The customer agonized over the colour choice,
Ended up taking him down to my paint factors and pushing him to choose, he ended up going with Dark navy Blue, a solid non metallic colour, it looks almost black in some light.
We are doing it in base and clear, still not decided on what Lacquer we are going to use ie a High Solid or a medium solid.
Well a couple of busy days have pushed the job forward and we are now all in one colour.
Primer all blocked down and car re masked, also had to mask all the insides of the bonnet, boot, and doors etc, booth washed out and base and clear applied.
Liquid glass. That takes a lot of prep and skill, as well as a lot of time.
That really is the dogs dangly's.I think i might leave mine in primer.

Simply stunning.
A set of brand new chrome wire wheels would look stunning against the dark blue. Any idea of the seat choice and is it going to be a standard or retro interior? I know Brian from DNA understandably won't sell his 2fifty dash's on their own but it would look superb in this car. Maybe some grovelling and pleading along with a wheelbarrow full of cash might tempt him!

I hope we can see some photos of the finished car. If your customer can fit the Borrani wheels , they will really finish it off. I'll be interested as to how he does manage to fit them as most of the wire wheel options I've seen stick out a long way from the arches.
