I thought it was finished 😕

They had it a week, but like I said I did a lot of the prep

It would be great if, once finished you did a 360 walk around video and posted on YouTube. I'm considering building one similar to yours. If I was closer to Dorset I would have bought one by now.

When it's done , I will email you loads of stuff
Ps I'm in Hampshire not Dorset
13 Feb 2016, 4:36pm
That would be great, tribute is in Dorset, is it not?
13 Feb 2016, 4:38pm
Yes . :)
They can deliver though

That's an improvement , bit of engine bling and some go faster bits.

Nice, really enjoying your build :)

Looking good now.
However I spotted a problem though. Surely the whole idea of a 'cool induction kit' it to situate the air filter in a cooler area (preferably with stale air not forced) so the engine gets cooler air = which is denser = more Oxygen = better combustion = more power. You have routed it from the cooler side of the engine to the hotter side, next to the exhaust?
Surely this would lose power?

Well spotted, I'm still waiting on a delivery of nice angled blue pipe which will fit between the maf and chrome pipe to take the filter further away from exhaust and radiator .
Also planning on putting an ally heat shield in.

My next dilemma is what to do with the stereo ?
I've currently removed the entire centre section of dash so hence the stereo too.
If I put it in the glove box I wont be able to operate it unless I have a passenger or I'm stationary. Same for a boot location.

Change the stereo for a remote control one?

Currently looking at some on eBay (spooky)
Will the remote work if the head unit is hidden in the glove box or boot?

Well, that's that decision made then :)
Heat shield also ordered

You are going to use a flowerpot for the CAI aren't you?

Took 1/2 a second off my 20-80 time compared to an unshieldeed K&N filter

No

Yes it makes a noticeable difference. Try and duct still air to the shielded filter for best results. Strangely sticking the filter in a fresh air direct flow is not as good.

I got good results using exhaust wrap on the manifold/ front pipe
it reduces under bonnet tempeture
22 Feb 2016, 7:56am
The Mazda already has a heat shield fitted at the factory over the manifold , so when I fit the other one it should be ok ...... I hope :)

Well what do you know - turns out there really was a 250 GTO spyder afterall...well, almost - it's very close!

And Frank Beard from ZZ Top had a 250 GT converted into a GTO Spyder as well which I didn't know

That bleeding tiger seal gets everywhere , just found it on the sink units, my hair and almost stuck my lips together!!!
Positive not though front grill is in :)

DISASTER FRICKIN DISASTER

Decided today it was time to re attach the bonnet , wanted to make it a much better fit than before . Well long story short it's not on. In fact the car is in less state of assembled now than it was . I am not a happy bunny.

I know it may not help but I have 3 builds simultaneously at any time with all the problems you have. Good fun isnt it?
