I have put my 2cv Sammio project on it yesterday - look forward to share experiences,
I do not know about France, but in the Netherlands we are very limited in making changes to a vehicle. Basically you can only change one of the three major components: Body, engine or chassis. Whichever one you change, it needs to go through the very strict MOT. I have seen Guzzi's, BMW engine on 2cv but in Holland it is illegal. So with unibody concepts as nowadays the standard, we cannot make any kitcar from it. Only vehicles with a separate chassis
Also you cannot increase horsepower with more then 40% -

Hi Zebre, You make terrific progress. Things are working out. I like the tripods (I have them on the shelves waiting). Have you any idea on the colour? Or is this too soon. I changed my own preference a 1000 times.....

No this plate is only here to help me when I have done the holes for the rear lamps. I made a collection of registration numbers all over the world.
I ve got yet french registration but in fact we can't drive that kind of car with our legislation. I have a registration paper with the mention «modified» at the column body. I will drive the car like that. All burton cars runs with nederlands numbers in france. I know zero burton with regular registration french paper.
You are flying, what à progress! I like the airfilter you plan to use. Where did you get this? It's lower than mine and has the right oval shape to put in the shape of the bonnet scoop.
Look forward to see your bonnet hinge solution, I think we need to support the hinge mounting points quite a bit as the bonnet is not very strong at the front.
For the bonnet, I will use the front door's hinges (like the belgium protoype, I'm in contcat with the owner) I will show you some pictures but these 2 hinges are parfect for this use.
That is looking very nice indeed. I think I will spend the extra and get P700s for my project.
Will be going to Goodwood Revival soon and no doubt pick up some bits from the many stalls that are there.

Sebastien - Merci for the airfilter info! - I think it will be a better solution as mine and will order it. By the way, I'm very curious how the Burton wheels will look. I wanted to go for wire wheels, but they are about 7kg heavier (adapters are heavy) which is a lot and will make a difference in handling. I'm just not sure how the burton wheels will look under the sammio. The Burton wheels are a lot cheaper as well...
Can you get me the contact details of the Belgium Sammio 2CV builder - I want to check about the wire wheels - how his experience is with these. You mentioned you are in contact with him..

I've work on the bonnet :
Otherwise, I got two hinges of my donor to serve as a hinge bonnet. The proto sammio 2CV is so fitted and is the best solution ! The hinges will be connected with a bar.
I've cut the alternator's fixations :
And I've done the circle for the bonnet (plate 30*3).
Looks great - I do not have these hinges anymore, but will get some, this is a very good solution - and easy!
I have very little time at the moment to work on the car unfortunately as I'm traveling a lot. Off course I'll follow your progress but it looks like you will be done before winter!

Many thanks for the photos of your bonnet hinge solution, we have been struggling for ever to try and make a concealed hinge work on the G46 door and you have presented the solution.
Purchase a set of 2CV hinges yesterday and I am sure they will solve our problem!

Be careful, the top hinge and bottom hinge are different. I have chose the little ones witch are the bottom hinges but you can use the top hinges also a little bigger. You only have to find a pair.
