After a five hour drive to b&b at Newark, 3 pints have made it all worth while! See you in the morning.

Hi Billy, Shame your car never made it to Newark :( , hope it's nothing too serious engine wise. It was good to see you both on Saturday anyway. Keep me updated.

Hi,

It turns out that i left the bonnet off over night and rain got into the plugs! Doh!!

I changed the fuel filter then thought it was a blocked injector......Ahh well its done now and drove spot on! But on the plus side i got my rear window from chris and it fit a treat and is 100% water tight without the use of silocone!

Great to see you on Sat,

The red mx250 you had at the show looks better in the flesh than in the photo's! Chris could you text me your number as i have got a new phone and lost some contacts when i removed my sim card.

Glad it's running OK again, been for a drive?

You must have made a better job than I did on the Mk2's rear window, I didn't seal it because I want to take it out to paint, it leaked a fair bit at Newark. Must have sold you a better rubber seal!!!!!:bounce:

Any more developments/pictures?

Ha,

Yes been for a good twenty min run around the back roads, Its so much fun to drive for a little 1.6

Really pleased with it.

Not many pics to post really as i have been sanding and filling a few dings in the doors etc and they dont show up in the pics. Putting her in grey primer fri aft/evening then further prep then paint sun/mon.

Really not sure what to do with it, sell/hire/keep. I want to do the kit on a mk2 next.

Also got the paint, Ferrari white and a 2" red band around the front mouth.

What is the advantage of a Mk2 over a Mk1?
19 Jun 2012, 9:57pm
I just prefer the mk2 as it is newer and more reliable as we do alot of miles and go all over the place so a kit based on a newer mx5 would be better, however this one is a super motor that has two owners and had gaskets done etc recently so just my luck i will build on a newer one and it will go bang!

still got to do under the arches but i am tubbing the arch with thin alloy. Still got to stone chip the bottom and paint.

not sure to go with the Italian green and red stripe over the top of the car (each stripe around 40mm) or have some vintage ferrari yellow detailing around the mouth and the rear.

Wow, that's sooooooo much better than UPS Brown! If you post some pictures with boot and bonnet on I'd be happy to do a bit of Photoshop for the graphics.
