Make sure you punch some eye holes in the bag with a steel spike. Then take the bag off your head and ask to be led to the nearest A&E.
Actually, I was serious about taking the glass out. If the car hasn't got a screen it doesn't need wipers to pass the mot.
At least one Spyder builder had this with the perspex flyscreen - a short-arsed tester failed the car because he couldn't see over the aeroscreen, but passed it once it was removed. Madness.
Not sure whether you'd need to take the frame off too though.

I was intending to, then on reflection, suspected it may lead to injury!
To be honest, I have now given up the idea of an early Mot, and will plod on and finish the beast to the best of my ability, and the Mot will naturally come after that, with all things working present and correct.

Wiper arms and blades
After much measuring fiddling and swearing, I now know what size wiper blades and arms I need, and have taken Drummajors advice, and ordered what I need from Tex Automotive.
They will have to make the arms to special order, and I should have them by the middle of next week.
They will all be in stainless steel, which is something good, but I thought at over £66 pounds, that is an expensive way to remove water from the windscreen.
Or am I being tight-arsed? Is £66 a bargain to pay for wipers?
Anyhow, it is what I want, and what the car needs, so it must be.

I paid £32 for stainless wiper arms and blades, if they were made to measure you will pay more, The problem is these cars look naff without stainless/chrome wipers!

Completenovice22, you are quite right which is why I paid so much, like you say our cars have to look the part.
Mick, the blades were only 8 quid plus Vat each, it was the arms I was stung on. To make it worse, the bloody arms are only 8 inches long anyway!
Hopefully this is a one-off, and I won't have to use the company again.

It seems like I'm doomed to making everybleedingthingmyself!!
Because the screen is so small compared to a full size one, I have now realised there are no wipers nor wiper blades that are actually small enough to fit straight on.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!.
I trial fitted the rubber into the screen aperture to see what size wiper blades I would need, and the measurement from the top of the rubber to the lower edge is only 11 inches.
Really `10 inch blades would be pushing my luck a bit, as it looks in tests as though they would foul the rubber at the lower edge.
I have found some 9 inch blades on the internet, and ordered some, as without them it will not pass the Mot.

Once its through an Mot, I can then mod up some stainless ones to look correct.

Have you tried the arms from your MK2? They are very short.

I just went out and measured them, they are short, they are 17 inches from the shaft centre to the end of the wiper blade.
But hey JagTVR, we are talking micro stuff here!
I just measured the one I "made up" as a pattern, and it is 13 inches long. So the MK2 ones would not do.
But, as I said earlier in this thread, I bit the bullet and paid through the nose to the tune of over 66 quid, and had some made in stainless steel, hopefully the perfect size for the car.
When they arrive next week, I will post pictures, watch this space...........

But after Dave's post above, I am not sure whether I should mention I like the stripes on your lawn.
So back to the build and given how many things you have made from scratch, splashing out on the wipers seems fair enough.

So, WCA, I take it that once the surgeons have finished steel pinning your left shoulder back together and dealt with the inevitable post-op complications you'll be looking for an automatic, lhd donor so you can build a Z300S take 2 with a gear selector you can reach with your last remaining arm.
I'd consider laying off the paraskiglidediving if I were you, or on current form by 2016 you're going to need a car adapted so you can steer with your moobs, accelerate with nasal flaring and brake by clenching your buttocks. That's if you haven't smashed your nose on the tarmac/mountain/coral reef/angry elephant/etc. by then.
Extreme sports are fun when you don't die (and fun to watch for some even if you do) but you might want to take up a safer hobby, like knitting perhaps?
Oh, hang on a minute, those needles can be pretty damn pointy. I suppose you could still drive if (when?) you lost one eye though...
